A property portal that works for the people who live in the homes

Bybricks is a UK portal for homes to buy and rent, with one difference that changes everything: owners list their own homes, free. No agent in the middle, no listing fee, no commission on the sale.

Buyers and renters browse everything openly. Create an account and you can save homes and searches, and message sellers directly and privately , no phone numbers handed out, a clear record of every conversation.

Every listing is checked. New homes run through automated checks the moment they’re submitted, the address has to resolve, the price has to be sane, duplicates get caught, and an EPC has to be declared before a home can be marketed at all. If an owner listed it, a person then reads it before it goes live. Agencies have to give us a company number and redress-scheme membership, and we check both, before they can list anything, so a verified agency’s listings publish straight from its own systems once the automated checks pass.

Two things we’re building and won’t claim we already have: identity checks on everyone who lists, and an automatic cross-check of owners against the Land Registry. Until those ship, reading every owner-listed home ourselves is the backstop, and verifying the agency is what stands behind an agency’s listings. We’d rather tell you exactly that than imply a verification badge we haven’t earned.

We keep the consumer side free forever. Later, we’ll earn our keep from optional listing upgrades and hand-picked partner services - conveyancing, mortgages, EPCs, removals, never from getting between you and your next home.
